Hi, Can we set up the UML's side eth0 IP address from command line itself? Right now i have to do "ifconfig eth0 <ip-address>" by logging into the UML. In my application, UML is started from a script, and i need the UML to come up and networking established automatically. Right now i'm using the following workaround : The script mounts the rootfs file and copies the ip address into a file in the rootfs and then unmounts the rootfs. Then the script starts the UML with this rootfs as ubd0. When UML comes up, the ip address is read from the file by my program (running on the UML) and "ifconfig eth0" is done. But this is cumbersome as i need to have root permissions to mount. Please let me know if there's any cleaner way out. thanks Suneel |
