I have found several of the pre-made root_fs files to not have the published root/user passwords. (i.e. root/root user/user) Hope this helps! :) root_fs_immunix_6.2_big.bz2 root_fs_redhat_6.2_big root_fs_redhat_7.0_big Also, the root_fs_suse_6.4_small filesystem appears to be corrupt. I've downloaded the image several times and each time I get the following error: Parallelizing fsck version 1.18a (11-Nov-1999) fsck.ext2: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ubd0 (null): The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock: e2fsck -b 8193 <device> fsck.ext2 /dev/ubd0 failed (status 8)! Run it manually! failed fsck failed. Please repair manually and reboot. The root file system is currently mounted read-only. To remount it read-write do: bash# mount -n -o remount,rw / Attention: Only CONTROL-D will reboot the system in this maintanance mode. shutdown or reboot will not work. Give root password to login: Hope all this is of some help to you! I love the UML! Good luck!! :) -Tony Murray |
