I'm new to User Mode Linux and was having some difficulty using root images provided off of the User Mode Linux website. I've downloaded several root filesystems from there and have had problems with them immediately panicking the user mode kernel or upon booting the kernel says they are damaged in someway. Maybe I just have bad luck. Can someone recommend an image from the website that is known to work cleanly? =20 Jon M. I use the debian 3.0 images that I got off of the website for many things - never had any problems. -Steve |

Would you please say what host and guest kernel version, host distribution = and=20 so on are you using and post the failure messages? I think your problem is= =20 with the kernel. If you are using the 2.4.19-5um rpm provided on the site,= =20 then that is the problem. Compile yourself a kernel with the latest 2.4 UML= =20 patch. If you have a RH9 / Fedora host, that's another sort of problem. But= =20 don't make us guess.
