Yes there is. I have a reasonable-looking patch from Greg Lonnon which
implements COW in the ubd driver. I'll integrate it after I have 2.4.6 out of

It seems to be effective at killing all the subthreads, although I'm not sure
why, exactly. uml_net should die, too, since it exits when its UML socket

I have a decent patch from Henrik Nordstrom which does that. That'll be
coming out after I deal with 2.4.6 as well.

The mconsole halt should also work if the UML is alive enough to respond to
interrupts. The pid file can be used to figure out the tracing thread so you
can kill it.
