Might be a driver glitch. I doubt that any higher levels of protocol have
anything to do with it because this doesn't happen between physical boxes.

This is easy. The daemon can obviously be started from an init script or
something. With the new console and serial line channel specification, you
can hook the consoles up to basically anything you want. 'con=pty' will hook
all the consoles up to pseudo-terminals on the host. I don't know how the
main console will react to that, so I would also add 'con0=fd:0,fd:1' and
'</dev/null >/dev/null'. You could also free up a vc on the host and do
'con0=/dev/tty6' or whatever. That's actually pretty cool.
