Running my qsbench on UML I get 1 or more errors on the
the sorted array (definitely not sorted in this case...).
- The bug seems quite indipendent respect to the host kernel.
I tried on my 2.4.17 and a SuSE 2.4.4 (from SuSE 7.2).
- I hit the bug regardless using or not UDMA on the host kernel.
I reproduced the bug with plain PIO4 mode (hdparm -d0 /dev/hda).
- Actually, UML 2.4.14-6, 2.4.16-2 and 2.4.17-1 are affected.
UML 2.4.13-5 does not appear to be affected.
Attached is my qsbench (Makefile, source and the same binary I used).
To reproduce it, my configuration is:
UML ram set to 32M (default), swap file size 64M (65536K).
Try with "qsbench -m 60", it uses a 60M array.
-m 40 and -m 80 are good as well.
You may need to run qsbench many times but often I hit the bug
Side note: shutting down UML hangs on "Deactivating swap...".
I have to "killall -9 linux".
Let me know if you can reproduce it.
