The best thing to do is to look at the ppc patch, which, coincidentally, is

It's not very big, and a lot of it is portability fixes in supposedly generic
code which the second (or third, if i386 is the first) port won't have to
The first thing to do is to get it to more-or-less compile, which will involve
fiddling with the headers. You have a bunch of macros to define, mostly
register access macros, and a few procedures (five or so, I think) to define.
And then you boot it.
