Say you had ppp0 for internet connectivity on the host - you wouldnt duplicate that inside the UML, instead you'd have eth0 for linking to the host. Once it gets out of the UML subsystem, the configuration you have in the host for the network traffic coming out of your uml's decides where to send it (eg - down ppp0, or in your case, bond0).
