ABSTRACT: The error message from mount is just wrong! The device file path is the wrong one! CONTENT: > Checking root filesystem: > fsck 1.27 (8-Mar-2002) > ext2fs_check_if_mount: No such file or directory while determining whether > /dev/ubd/0 is mounted. Aargh!! No such file or directory! Are you sure you use correctly DevFS? In fact I found THIS message from the kernel in your first post: /dev/ubd/disc0: unknown partition table It means that the kernel created the device under another name. So we have the key! For the error message by mount, I just wouldn't trust it. I found each day another wrong error message when using mount, so mine must be a common situation: i.e. they didn't debugged mount for this. -- cat <<EOSIGN Paolo Giarrusso, aka Blaisorblade Linux Kernel 2.4.21/2.6.0-test on an i686; Linux registered user n. 292729 EOSIGN |
