I saw this issue below in the digest and wondered if there were any other problems with 2.4.22um. I had been using using 2.4.20um6 for some time without many problems and went to upgrade the kernel to 2.4.22(I left the rootfs exactly the same except for re-installing modules...I suppose that is ok) and found some strange instability...it would boot but when I went to do anything in the console window it would crash. Debugging it was difficult - it seemed to receive many signals (I set gdb to ignore USR1) a SEGV which could be continued then finally an IRQ 2 which it could not handle. I started to suspect that I needed to regenerate the rootfs but I can't think of a reason why I should have to. thanks for any info. -GSM ps. is there a new patch with the /dev/kmem fix? thanks use...@li... wrote: > 5.
