I'm new to UML. Please be gentle if I'm wrong. I do not seem to be able to find mailing list archives. Could not search them hence. FAQ does not seem to list my problem either. I've downloaded the linux 2.4.19-5um0-386.rpm and installed the same. I also have the root_fs. I installed the rpm and tried giving the command linux in the same directory where I had root_fs. The kernel crashed with a panic error. My system: Pentium 4 (1.5 ghz)/ 256MB RAM/ RH9 (2.4.20-8 kernel) I did not install any patches or recompile my host kernel as the site said it is not neccesary. ------------------Boot message from UML------------------ tracing thread pid = 3579 Linux version 2.4.19-5um (jd...@um...)
