I want to attach the file descriptors (0,1) of the process that invoked UML to a UML device. ie: "con0=fd:0,fd:1 con=pts" This gives me kernel output message, etc. However I would like to also have an login console on these same file descriptors (0,1). Is that possible? Doing something like "con0=fd:0,fd:1 con1=fd:0,fd:1" doesn't work. Basically in the end, I want kernel bootup messages and a getty on file descriptors 0,1. Also, is there anything special about con0 as opposed to con[1-n]? It looks like con0 maps to /dev/tty0 in the UML instance which represents the currently active virtual console? So, would it make any sense if I tried to start a getty on /dev/tty0 in the UML instance? One more thing, can I attach file descriptor 2 (stderr) (ie: con0=fd:0,fd:1,fd:2) as well? Thanks for your help. By the way, UML is amazing! I am hooked. |
