I started the kernel as follows: # gdb linux (gdb host kernel) # r ubd0=3D/mnt/tmp/BusyBox-1.5.0-x86-root_fs=20 =20 The kernel runs gdb, opens a xterm and soon after that breaks. Please see attached file viz; "Screenshot.jpg" The kernel breaks displaying the following messages "Detaching after fork from child process 15039.... =20 "Detaching after fork from child process 15040...=20 =20 "Detaching after fork from child process 15041... =20 Please see the attached file viz: kernel_breaks.jpg for more detailed description of the errors. After doing a ps in xterm, I found that the process with pid 15041 sleeps in ptrace function(wchan value), see attached file Screenshot.jpg=20 =20 Can anyone please tell me how to overcome these issues so that I can effectively debug the kernel using gdb. =20 Any steps or useful links would be greatly appreciated.
