Hello Folks, Hopefully by now you have had a chance to work with the IPA trial, it ends Sunday. I would very much like to see access to this application and it’s underlying knowledge base at the U. We can purchase individual licenses ($10-13K/ year) or pool resources and purchase a campus wide license at a discount ($25K for 1 or $48K for 2 concurrent instances/ year, unlimited number users). The more I use it (20hrs +) the more I feel it is a critical resource for interpreting most every dataset coming off our genome sequencers. So the purpose of this email is to determine if we should pursue the campus wide license. If you would, answer the following by Tuesday PM. 1) Would you use the IPA software in the coming year? 2) If so, how many hours, guessimate. 0-4/month, 5-10/month, 11+/month? 3) How much would your lab contribute to purchasing an IPA campus license to pay for your guessimated use? $2K, $4K?, $6K?
