In this talk we will discuss several features which make Python a viable tool for scientific computing:

  *   1. strength and flexibility of the Python language
  *   2. mathematical libraries (numpy,scipy,..)
  *   3. graphical libraries (matplotlib,..)
  *   4. extending Python using C/C++ and Fortran
