Description
USB Raptor can lock the system once a specific USB drive is removed from the computer and unlock when the drive is plugged in again to any USB port.
The utility checks constantly the USB drives for the presence of a specific unlock file with encrypted content. If this specific file is found the computer stays unlocked otherwise the computer locks.
To release the system lock user must plug the USB with the file in any USB port.

I think your software could be very useful. Did you know that it is reported to have Adware in it?
This software is said to have Adware according to Cylance on https://www.virustotal.com
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/c879b05b7e74df4ed7c1920f978278e666792ebf84941ad29e4691609439e1a9/detection
Thank you for your report.
This is a false positive.
Unfortunately not all antivirus programs made equal.
As you can see on the report, this is because the program can connect and report its status to dweet.io. This is a well known service provider and the fucntion can be disabled by the user if it not needed.
67 engines are reporting the program as clean and safe, this is not coincidence.
You say that this is an open source project, yet I can't find a single file after 2014-07-03, even though you have obviously keept this continuously updated since. So is this open source or not?
Licesnse say Creative Commons, but if the code isnot available, then it's not really CC...
Can you please explain or provide the source ?
The project is open source since the source code is released to sourceforce servers. Unfortunately, since the development is done to different computers with limited access to the internet (and no rights to connect to these servers) the source code is not maintained often.
There is also a security concern. There was a leak on encryption scheme several years ago by some guy who foked the project and released an unlocker This was forced the DEV to change encryption and release a new version to fix this.
Currenlty the project is under deep rebuild on the code in order to resolve this and the code will be released up to date as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding.
Ok I tried to delete the usb raptor but it says that a file is running how do I fix this?
There is no need o "fix" something. You just need to close the program first!
From your system tray locate USB Raptor icon, right click it and click "Exit"
This is a great software. I donated it and How do I activate the software. By the way. I restart os after. why software config reset also

Hello Limbo
just a short question, does USB Raptor also check the ID / Serial of the USB Drive that would make it more unique like PAMUSB for Linux does?
Sincerely Marc jr. Landolt (HackersCardgame.ch)
Yes this is also supported.
Taken from documentation p11:
*Pair unlock file with drive serial number: Enabling this option forces the encryption
key to use serial number of the selected drive as well to generate the unlock.k3y.
Practically this means that the k3y file generated cannot be copied to any other
media and unlock the computer because USB Raptor wants to detect the same serial
number used while the k3y file created. This option allows the user to create
multiple keys but the k3y files cannot be copied from media to media. Disabling this
option the k3y file can be copied to any USB drive and would be functional. *
Thank you for your fast respond.
be careful with this sort of projects. 2013 they sabotaged all people that helped developing pam_usb. If you look at the fork-list non of the forks and also the original repository did not work anymore. the did not sabotaged the project directly, they sabotaged the library (Udisks => Udisks2).
not the only case, some people call them "Upstream Snakes":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgJRkNAYTC0
(so far not yet sure if only linux or also windows)
https://github.com/aluzzardi/pam_usb/issues/44
when i tried to fix it they tried to annoyed me to prevent that i fix it:
https://github.com/braindef/pam_usb
(though i could fix it, but if perfect fix would be 100% this fix is about 20%, but "works for me")

Is there a way to set the background of the lock screen to be an image? I know there is a way to set the bouncing logos, but I would love to be able to set an image for the background too. Thank you
Background image is not yet supported.
It is on future dev plans
New version 0.19.88.727 is out.
A basic background image is now supported. Please check it.
Love the program! I want to donate but I have a couple questions first.
How do I send commands over the LAN?
I want to test serial but it states it requires serial bridge utility. Where do I get that?
Thank You
All the above mentioned are parts of donor's pack.
Greets
How much to unlock?
Please contact to ngeorgousis(at)hotmail.com
I sent an email to that email address last night and it got returned
