What is USB Raptor anyway?
USB Raptor is a simple yet powerful lock-unlock utility which can let you lock and unlock your computer using a USB flash drive as a key.
What’s wrong with windows lock and why should I use USB Raptor?
Well Windows lock is just fine, but it missing some automation.
In fact USB Raptor can integrate with Windows lock, however in this case most of the features are not available such automatic unlock when an unlock USB key is plugged in to your computer. Removed in version v0.15.78 (Passion Fruit)
With USB Raptor you can have hardware keys on your pocket to automate lock and unlock of your system. You have rich security features available and customization options for your lock screen.
How it works?
Simple enough, the utility resides on system tray and checks USB ports for presence or a USB flash drive. On each flash drive detected the utility is looking for a specific unlock file which should contain encrypted data. If the file is present and the data is correct the computer stays unlocked. If the file is missing or corrupted the computer automatically locks. This make the system to lock each time the USB stick removed from the USB port and unlock when the USB flash drive is connected again.
Which USB flash drives are compatible with USB Raptor?
All USB flash drives are compatible with USB Raptor. There is no limitation or any special need or storage medium.
Can I still use the USB flash drive to store my files?
Yes. USB Raptor only need to have access and read a tiny file (1KB) stored there. There is no need for a dedicated "key".
Can I use USB Raptor in multiple PCs with the same key to unlock?
Yes. The only thing you have is to set the same password on USB Raptor each PC.
What alternative methods I have to unlock my system in case of lost USB flash drive?
There are few unlock methods available such are using the password on lock screen or send unlock commands through network or using USB Master key. During the beta period the Master key creation and the network unlock tools are available only to beta testers.
How can I become a beta tester?
Beta testing is closed. No more testers needed.
I noticed that CTR+ALT+DEL key combination is still active after lock. Is this a bug?
No. This key combination is very hard to be disabled. Windows doesn’t allow programs to disable this feature for security reasons. Although there is no absolutely reason to disable it since this can’t give you access to desktop.
How do I make a back up copy of the my main USB drive that I use to lock and unlock with? Incase the main one goes bad or is lost.

You can copy the entire drive contents or create an additional key.
Of course the above depends on which High Security Options you have selected.

Depends on what backdoors are enabled on your system.
Current version supports several backdoors.

and RUID to access locked program interface.
Hi. I downloaded this and it is great. Does what I want it to do. One question though, when I minimize it, I can't seem to fins it again and when I try to open it again, it doesn't open properly as I cant see it anywhere on my screen or in the TaskBar. If you could help me that would be great! Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I installed USB Raptor but I want to uninstall it now both from PC and USB. But it is not uninstalling. Please help as soon as possible.
USB Raptor comes as a stand alone executable (portable).
As you can see there is no installer, for this reason the program doesn't listed on the installed programs.
To remove it from your system just delete the executable.
Hello, I'm not good at english sorry. I downloaded USB Raptor to improve the security of my computer. But I forgot my password and the file on the USB stick is missing. That's why I can't get into my computer and I don't know what to do, please, I need help somehow to work around it. The support email address does not work for me. Is there a keyboard shortcut or something for this? I would also be willing to reset my computer. Thanks for the help

I forgot my password but I still have the USB stick. and when i remove the usb the raptor screen juat flashes and cant even enter any text. also cant open raptor to change the password. pls help.
I don't know if it's only me but -to my disappointment- I cannot use this app anymore due to the following issue:
I got it "installed" mid-week (something that I wasn't expected to happen since it's 'portable' and should run as a simple executable). It seemingly worked fine till Friday evening. Then I had to shut down my PC.
The weekend passed and on Monday morning I turned it on again, logged to my user account and after a few seconds USB Raptor activated and blocked the access.
So far I thought everything was going as intended and I connected my USB to unlock the PC - Nothing happened.
My thought was that maybe the USB got damaged somehow, so I tried the backdoor and used my stored password - No avail!
Hence, I was totally blocked out from my PC!
Since I couldn't directly go to the Task Manager, I've tried to restart the PC and in the few seconds before it gets locked, find the process and end it - No time to do so.
One thing I managed to do -during the 5 to 10 seconds the app needs to start- was to find the folder and delete it.
After that, luckily, the app never starts but also cannot get re-installed. Strangely, it keeps the old settings somewhere and when re-installed, it directly blocks the PC as in the beginning.
So, that's it with USB Raptor. It won't be used again, even if I wanted to.
Such a pity.
Reading the documentation answers most of your questions.
The program offers lot of extra ways to unlock the computer RUID, Password, Network Messaging etc.
Also lot's of warning messages are inform user for potential risk, especially not experienced users.
I deleted Raptor file from my USB and I don't know the password 😭,and now I'm unable to access my Laptop..

anyone knows how to stop usb raptor from resseting password to default? i want to change it but after every restart of my pc it gets back to default so i wonder if anyone got this or knows how to prevent it
