I am sorry that I have missed your message.
the forums have been deleted because usbpicprog had too many channels of
getting support, we have now chosen to use the mailing list
usb...@li... as the main support channel.

I think the problem you are facing is the version of libusb that
usbpicprog demands, and this is also related to the version of
usbpicprog that you are trying to compile.
I think you have tried to compile version 0.3.0 which needs libusb-0.1.
However, we recently switched to the newer version of libusb;
libusb-1.0, this is true for any development branch of usbpicprog > 803.
I suggest that you try downloading
http://usbpicprog.org/downloads/usbpicprog-823-20100219.tar.gz and build
it.
You will also need the development version of wxWidgets, 2.9.0
installed.
