Hi all, UsbPicProg has recently switched from libusb0.1 to libusb1.0 and is now using, on Windows platforms, a driver developed by Microsoft itself for USB communications. This has the big advantage that the driver is safer than the one provided by libusb-win32 (which works in kernel mode) and supports all recent Windows systems (WinXP and newer) both in 32bit and 64bit variants. Since the UsbPicProg developers have access to limited hw resources I'm asking you to kindly test the new UsbPicProg installer on your system and report here the results: step #1) download the installer suitable for your system (x86 or amd64) from: http://usbpicprog.org/downloads/UsbPicProg-x86-r824-debug.exe http://usbpicprog.org/downloads/UsbPicProg-amd64-r824-debug.exe step #2) run it step #3) report here if the installation was ok and if not which message you got (in this case please attach also your C:\windows\dpinst.log log file) Users with Windows Vista (both 32 and 64 bits) are very much welcome ;) Thanks a lot! Francesco PS: from 23 to 27 february I won't have internet access but I'll look at all reported installations as soon as I'm back! |
