indeed; today I've focused on writing a general-purpose class for adding easily 
pausable threads directly in wxWidgets (it was a long time I planned to write 
it; this is the good occasion to remove it from my TODO list :)). I hope to be 
able to complete it tomorrow so that I can test it in UPP later this week.

I'd call the branch "upp_wx_thread"...
