I am attempting to install usbpicprog software on Windows 7 but I believe the Driver Installation stage is failing.
During installation a Command Window appears and the drivers appear to be extracted twice. I am left with both "C:\Program Files\UsbPicProg\0x000b" and "C:\Program Files\UsbPicProg\0x000e" folders with driver installer/uninstaller executables, inf files etc.
During installation I was warned that my computer contains a newer version of the Visual C++ 2010 Runtime and I should resolve that problem. usbpicprog.exe does run after installation has completed.
Windows detects the usbpicprog (the Green LED is lit and the Green and Orange LEDs blink during enumeration) but Device Manager shows a Yellow Warning Triangle against the usbpicprog.org entry. Attempting to search the computer for driver software results in nothing being found.
usbpicprog.exe indicates, in the status bar, that no bootloader or programmer has been detected. It also displays an abnormal program closure dialog when exiting. The options presented are to wait for the program to respond or close the program.
Do you have any suggestions as to how I should proceed to get the drivers to install correctly?
Edit: When the driver extraction/installation command prompt window is displayed an "Operation timed out" message briefly pops-up at the Installing driver(s)... stage.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
hii, i have installed the driver and my Usbpicprog is working well, but usbpicprog is not detecting my development board IC PIC16F877A and always ask to update the firmware.
i have not removed both jumper, is it have to be removed during programming??
because when i am removed the jumper then usbpicprog indicates that boot loader or programmer not found.
please help me to solve out this issue, i am not able to program my development board ic's.

Dear manisch,
You can ignore the warning about upgrading.
Are you sure that all pins are connected correctly?
Also pgm has to be pulled to gnd.
The jumpers to stay.
Kind regards,
Frans Schreuder

Thank you. Installing that driver manually worked great!
