Hi Andy, Oh, I see.. now I understand the staging :-) My focus itself wasn't the usbip kernel modules, but the Windows port. I tried to keep up with the staging code, but eventually I gave up as well (mainly because I moved to another country and I didn't have the need for USB/IP at home anymore). Unfortunately I haven't spoken with any of the original developers or the "new ones" (the group that tried to keep up on the Windows port, which includes me) in a long time. Quite some time ago we went through a huge discussion how we should proceed regarding the Windows port and we managed to fix a bunch of bugs, but then we stopped. My guess is that they moved on to other projects as well. Regarding the usbip-userpace: I personally think you should move as soon as possible to somewhere else, mostly because it would simplify ports in the future. Btw, just for curiosity, any chance that in the future a libusbip might exist somewhere, almost ready to be ported? You know, it's always easier to port a library then the whole userspace tools... :-) Anyway, I believe most of the usbip-related discussions, at least for Linux, are inside the kernel mailing lists, right? I mean, it has been a while since I saw some activity around here, and most of it was regarding the Windows port, not the original Linux code.
