I would like to send an audio signal via bluetooth to another device to plat it. The signal comes from a device with only a 3.5mm audio out. I can run it through and ADC that has a USB C connector.
I'd like to connect this to my linux laptop and use the laptop to send the stream via bluetooth to the other device a bluetooth amplifier.
The amplifie won't work with and simple 3.5mm to BT adapters I've been able to find. I need to select the BT device which I can do with a smartphone or laptop but not on the adapters I've found.
I know when connected via the smartphone or laptop if works well when playing something with a music player.
I see many music players I can select from a number of sources or enter URLs of streaming services, but I don't see anything about a USB port or something connected to it.
I came across a mention of USBIP and thought this might work, but I don't see anything mentioned that sounds like what I'm try to do.
Thought I'd ask.
Thanks for any information/help.

I think your need probably can be solved with just VLC, it has an option for open capture device where you can select the inputs on your PC, in this case the ADC. You said you were on linux, so make sure you have all the audio set up. A good tool to record and test your equipment would be OBS for capturing from the ADC, and connect the other via bluetooth to the laptop. Idkw your linux setup, but many GUI also let you set to listen an input device and the other as output, that way would go directly 3.5 -> ADC -> USB -> PC -> bluetooth -> other device.
USBIP is for cases of multiple PC's sharing USB over networks(wifi or ethernet)

Just looking at the VLC media/capture device settings I see it is more set
up for video although there is an audio setting that has one option on the
list hw 0,0.
At the moment I don't remember where I put the 3.5 ADC. It is small and I
put it someplace safe, but don't recall where. Maybe with it plugged in it
might show up as an option.
I'll have to wait till I find it, then will try using OBS Studio, etc.

I found my adc and connected to my linux laptop. I just used the one audio
setting hw,0,0. and I can hear the audio on the laptop speakers or
headphones.
I can pair the laptop with the bt device, but so far haven't got the audio
going to it. I think I may have to change some settings in the audio system
of the laptop. My system has pulse audio. I haven't done much with it, but
I have done some things with alsa in the past, but don't quite remember
what or how.
I also played around a little with obs. I can see the adc adapter in the
list of inputs. I haven't got any sound coming out the speakers or
headphone jack yet or figured how to send it out via bluetooth yet. I'm am
totally new to OBS though.
so there are some things I have to figure out still, but I am getting the
signal in.
