failed to open a listening socket

I am having trouble getting usbipd working on my arch linux box. I get this output.

    (*) sudo usbipd --debug
usbipd: info: starting usbipd (usbip-utils 1.1.1)
usbipd: error: failed to open a listening socket

Other than that everything seems okay. I can bind a usb device and I can even see that usb device on my arch box but I can't see it from my windows machine (I assume because I can't open the socket).

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    I had the same issue.

In my case, usbipd was already running (it autostarts on boot) which meant when you ran the sudo usbipd -debug command it tried start another instance of it and could NOT use the socket as the already-running instance was using it.

Check by running top and looking for usbipd -D, it it is there, kill it by PID then do usbipd -debug  again.

    Hope it helps.
