URL Check

Android App that checks if a web-site is up or down. It uses a URL to poll a web-resource every few minutes, to ensure that it is responding as expected. Beyond checking for connectivity, it will also check for a particular response.

A web site will sometimes respond with an application-error page (e.g. an error response from MySql or some other such tool). Since there is no HTTP error, many web-site checking tools will not send an alert.

This App has two objectives: to check for a specific response that ensures key resources are up and running. Secondly, to be stand-alone: i.e. not to depend on a central site that checks the URL and sends a response, but to do the checking directly from the phone.
