    I am stuck trying to compile svn from source (10-1-13) in Ubuntu 12.04.on an Intel P4 2.8 processor mobo. I have a DLC5 cable so I am going back to this old box with the lpt connector. I am trying to flash a mpc8241 and I understand that a patch has been applied to now allow this now. I can't find any missing dependencies. I see no errors running autoreconf, autogen.sh, or ./configure. Running sudo make I get the following error and stop:

    make[3]: Entering directory /usr/local/src/urjtag/src' CCLD liburjtag.la make[3]: Leaving directory/usr/local/src/urjtag/src'

    Thanks!!!!! I never found python-dev as a dependency in the documentation. Now to see if I can actually flash this mpc8241.

    I had no luck flashing the mpc8241. I am looking at the experience by Frank Wille in Feb 2011 on Sandpoint boards. My board is from a Terastation Pro. I tried detecting the flash both with and without the 8 bit patch he shows on his website and I still got:

    jtag> detectflash 0xffc00000
    dev ID=0090 man ID=0090
    urj_flash_amd_detect: mid 90, did 90
    error: flash: mid!=0x01

    It appears that the mpc824x.c file is still not working. If someone wants to feed me simple instructions I will follow them and see if we can get it working. I was able to detect the flash under Openwince-jtag but could not flash without errors.
