The file names of particular chapters sometimes change (whenever the pages are (re)created from asciidoc).
If this can't be fixed with DocBook tools/options, there should be at least one stable copy of the documentation that was current for the latest release, e.g. in a subdirectory named after the release

How about having an additional version of the document in one single file? This can be referenced with stable links while the multi-file document is better suited for online reading.

Here's a single-page attempt - http://urjtag.org/book/UrJTAG.html - but anchors inside the document still look dynamic. Hm, there might be an option to determine the output file name

Probably will have to modify stylesheets anyway to embed the required SF logo and better match with urjtag.org title page design...

Newer versions of asciidoc (e.g. 8.2.5, but not the 8.2.1 in Ubuntu 7.04) are able to generate section IDs from section titles. Together with the "use.id.as.filename" attribute in the stylesheet this results in files named after section titles.
