URG Driver Installation Guide

Introduction

This guide explains how to install the URG sensor driver for different operating systems.

• Windows 10 / Windows 11
  → The driver is installed automatically, so manual installation is not required.
  If you want to assign a port identifier, follow the instructions below:

  → Pre-installation configuration is required before installing the driver.

URG USB driver install

This section explains how to install the URG USB driver on Windows.
The screenshots are from Windows 7, but the procedure is nearly the same for Windows 8, Vista, and XP.
Please download and extract the driver beforehand:
(URG_USB_Driver_win.zip)

1. Turn on the URG sensor and connect it to your PC using a USB cable.
2. Open Device Manager and select URG-Series USB Driver.
   
3. If the driver is not installed, a warning message will appear.
   In that case, click Update Driver... to begin the installation process.
   
4. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
   
5. Click the Browse button, choose the folder where you extracted the driver, and click Next.
   
6. Click Install this driver software anyway to complete the installation.
   

Confirmation URG USB driver

Let's confirm whether sensor is recognized by using Device Manager.

In this case, URG is recognized as COM3 port.
