UPX can't identify as UPX-compressed, pack, unpack, or even list a DJGPP .EXE if the stub used is from D3X.

Why does the world need yet another alpha-quality, incompatible DOS extender?

Anyway, moving this topic to Feature Requests...

Evidence, please. DOG4/SW should be better ?

D3X is compatible, and works. But no big problem for me, if it just doesn't work with UPX ;-)

It's not alpha-quality, it's just called "alpha" for some odd reason. UPX handles it fine for watcom/le, so it's only the djgpp2/coff part that isn't detecting it. (BTW, it's only a DPMI host there, not an extender.) The original website is down, and it's hard to find other than mirrored on my site, but the main advantage, IMHO, is that it can build with GCC + NASM (no TASM needed). I have no complaints about it, it seems to work well.

    Right :-) DOG/4SW sucks ways more ...

    > BTW, it's only a DPMI host there, not an extender.

Wrong. It's DPMI host + stub loader.

    Wrong:

    :-) at least for NASM

    Spawning-BUG, ARF-BUG, ...
