v2.4.2 - soft release

In October 2012 we had a soft release of version 2.4.2; this version introduces the new media management system, so most of the changes are in the "workshop" area where artists upload and manage media, create and edit stages, etc. There have been massive changes here, which are great - however now that we have started to use it a lot, we have discovered a performance issue in the display of media items. UpStage 2.1

Recently the public UpStage server was updated to version 2.1, and now at last the updated 2.1 User Manual is available; this release includes a number of small bug fixes and some new functionality.

But the major development with this release is the creation of an installer package, making it much easier for people wishing to install their own UpStage server to do so. Version 2 of UpStage was launched on 28 June 2007 and is now available to download.

UpStage 2 beta release

The beta release of UpStage 2 is now available for you to download, as of 30 April 2007. it's also on the UpStage servers, and currently being user-tested. If you are downloading it to install on your own server, please join our developers' mailing list and keep in touch with us about any issues you encounter, or any feedback you have.

Funding for UpStage Phase 2

In July we learned that we had been successful in our application to the NZ Government's Digital Strategy's Community Partnership Fund for a grant to develop UpStage to its second release, and run community workshops to assist people in creating their own performances in UpStage.

The first step is to continue the development of the software; Douglas is back on board and we have also had four AUT students who have done a lot of work during the year. We'll be incorporating the bug fixes & enahncements to date as soon as possible, and aim to have a beta version of UpStage 2 ready for Feb 2007. ... read more

2006 Developments

We have entered into an agreement with Auckland University of Technology, to make UpStage available as a project for final-year software development students. In 2006, we have a team of four students who are working on UpStage, primarily bug-fixing and making enhancements to the user interface.
