we would like to update you about the situation with the CyPosium Book.
unfortunately, it's unlikely that LEA will be able to publish it this
year, & possibly not even next year. annie & i feel strongly that the
book should be published this year, so we have started approaching other
publishers to see whether there are any faster avenues. we have not
closed the door on LEA - all options open at the moment, & if you have
any suggestions as well please let us know.

we are finding that there is interest in the book, but everyone is super
busy. we'll keep trying to find a publisher for another couple of months
but, since we really want to see the book finished this year, we will go
with self-publishing if we can't get a publisher.

we are sorry that we still can't give a more definite timeframe for
publication but we are doing the best that we can.

To scientists, academics, artists, architects, urbanists, engineers,
practitioners, activists, inventors and water drinkers to submit projects,
papers, performances, panels and workshops.


THEME: "WATER VIEWS: CARING AND DARING"
SUB-THEMES:

* Histories of human perceptions and practices pertaining to freshwater
and seawater
* Knowledge of our vulnerabilities and conflicts, needs and trends,
success and failures involving water
* Communication facilitating our collective goals, plans, values and
dreams for water, as well as the governance and stewardship that would
facilitate them.


So far, there will be nodes in San Francisco, New York, Buenos Aires,
Tunis, Berlin, Coburg, Poznan, Torun, Paris, Syracuse, Athens, Hydra and

[Cyposium] CyPosium book update

dear cyposium organisers & book contributors,

last week we officially gave all of the content to lanfranco & ozden, 
the LEA editors, to begin their process of further editing/style 
checking, and design/layout.

unfortunately, the LEA designer has been gravely ill so there are some 
major delays in their schedule & lanfranco is unable to give us a 
publication date at this stage, but it will definitely not be published 
this year.

we are confident that we have got everything as finished as possible so 
that there won't be delays from our end & we won't have to come back to 
you any more than necessary. we will keep you updated on progress.

who lives and works in Swe­den. She holds a post-graduate qualification
from the National Art School ENSAD Paris — ARI inter­ac­tive research
work­shop —  and stud­ied the Arts (Doc­tor of Sci­ence, Tech­nol­ogy and
Aes­thet­ics of Arts) at Uni­ver­sité Paris 1 and Paris 8. She pro­duced Stream
On You at the Dig­i­tal Cen­ter for Media Art in Brus­sels, is the art
direc­tor of the stream­ing fes­ti­val HÖRLURSFESTIVAL for live

some changes in my bio...I have to finish this MBA - magister of Digital
Arts soon...

was born in Bel­grade, Ser­bia and grad­u­ated from the Acad­emy of Art in
Novi Sad, in painting. She almost completed (MBA) a Interdisciplinary
Postgraduate Studies in the Department of Digital Art at the University of
Art, Belgrade and holds a certificate from the IT Academy of Digital
Design. Currently she works as an activist, painter, digital artist and web
master. Katarina is a member of the Independent Association Panel of Art
DIT (Digital Interactive Triptych), associate member of IADAS
(International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences) and editor of
"Izlazak" (an independent journalistic intelligence web site of cultural

where she stud­ied dif­fer­ent theatre spe­cial­isa­tions. In 2006 she 
stud­ied as an exchange stu­dent (Eras­mus) at the Drama Depart­ment of 
Uni­ver­sity of Kent. In 2009 she completed music stud­ies with a degree 
in Vio­lon­cello and returned to UK to start an MA in The­atre 
Direct­ing at Uni­ver­sity of East Lon­don. She is now completing a 
practice-based PhD with the the­sis title, "Ethe­atre Project: 
Direct­ing Polit­i­cal Cyber­for­mance".


Helen Var­ley Jamiesonis a writer, the­atre prac­ti­tioner and dig­i­tal 
artist from New Zealand, based in Ger­many. She holds a Mas­ter of Arts 
(Research) from Queens­land Uni­ver­sity of Tech­nol­ogy, 
inves­ti­gat­ing cyber­for­mance --- live per­for­mance on the inter­net 
-- which she has prac­ticed for over a decade. She is a found­ing 
mem­ber of the globally-dispersed cyber­for­mance troupe Avatar Body 
Col­li­sion, a co-founder of UpStage, an open source web-based plat­form 
for cyber­for­mance, and co-curator of online fes­ti­vals involv­ing 
artists and audi­ences inter­na­tion­ally. She is also the "web queen" 
of the Mag­dalena Project, an inter­na­tional net­work of women in 
con­tem­po­rary the­atre.


Nathalie Fougerasis a media artist, per­former, art direc­tor who lives 
and works in Swe­den. She holds a post-graduate qualification in Arts 
Déco­rat­ifs from ENSAD Paris (ARI --- inter­ac­tive research work­shop, 
National Art School) and stud­ied Hyper­me­dia and the Arts (Doc­tor of 
Sci­ence, Tech­nol­ogy and Aes­thet­ics of Arts) at Uni­ver­sité Paris 1 
and Paris 8. She pro­duced Stream On Youat the Dig­i­tal Cen­ter for 
Media Art in Brus­sels, is the art direc­tor of the stream­ing 
fes­ti­val HÖRLURSFESTIVAL for live per­for­mance (Swe­den), and is 
co-curator for the net­work Upgrade Östersund-Stockholm. Nathalie's 
art­work explores a critical read­ing of media that shifts this read­ing 
into an instal­la­tion or per­for­mance.


Kata­rina ?or?e­vic' Uros(e­vic'was born in Bel­grade, Ser­bia and 
grad­u­ated from the Acad­emy of Art in Novi Sad, in paint­ing. She 
com­pleted a first year in Inter­dis­ci­pli­nary Post­grad­u­ate 
Stud­ies in the Depart­ment of Dig­i­tal Art at the Uni­ver­sity of Art, 
Bel­grade and holds a cer­tifi­cate from the IT Acad­emy of Dig­i­tal 
Design. Cur­rently she works as an activist, painter, digital artist and 
web mas­ter. Kata­rina is a mem­ber of the Inde­pen­dent Asso­ci­a­tion 
Panel of Art DIT (Dig­i­tal Inter­ac­tive Trip­tych) and edi­tor of 
  "Izlazak" (an inde­pen­dent jour­nal­is­tic intel­li­gence web­site of 
cul­tural devel­op­ments in the region and the world).


Suzon Fuksis an inter­me­dia artist, chore­o­g­ra­pher and direc­tor 
explor­ing the inte­gra­tion and inter­ac­tion of mov­ing image through 
per­for­mance, screen, instal­la­tion and online work. She was the 
Copeland Fel­low and Asso­ciate Researcher in the Women Stud­ies 
Research Cen­tre at the Five Col­leges, Mass­a­chu­setts in 2012, and 
from 2009 to 2012 held an Aus­tralia Coun­cil for the Arts Fel­low­ship. 
Suzon is co-artistic direc­tor of Igneous since 1997, founding-member of 
Active­Lay­ers, and the ini­tia­tor and co-founder of WATERWHEEL.


Vicki Smithis a visual media artist and edu­ca­tor from Aotearoa/NZ. She 
devel­oped the dis­tance edu­ca­tion school West­Net, is a vol­un­teer 
on the West Coast Kete com­mu­nity story project and trustee for 
Sail­ing for Sus­tain­abil­ity and the Aotearoa Dig­i­tal Arts Network. 
Her work links com­mu­ni­ties of prac­tice and explores how 
con­nect­ed­ness can aid devel­op­ment through assid­u­ous use of art, 
sci­ence and tech­nol­ogy. Vicki is one of the orig­i­nal mem­bers of 
Avatar Body Col­li­sion, who insti­gated the cyber­for­mance venue 
UpStage and she cre­ates, teaches and co-curates the annual fes­ti­vals. 
She explor­es new tech­nol­ogy to observe con­nec­tions to the old and 
is on a cre­ative journey of sail­ing, using celes­tial nav­i­ga­tion to 
follow the paths of early voy­agers.

format but it will also mean we have a good distribution channel. Helen 
and I will spend most of the month of August on these tasks and we hope 
to get it all ready by the end of the month. We will certainly contact 
you before to have your opinion on chapters like the introduction and 
the organising process. 


The date of publication is not clear yet, but the sooner we get the 
material in the right form and have it edited correctly the earlier all 
can go to Leonardo and the designer.

[Cyposium] CyPosium book update Leonardo Almanac

Hi you all,

A few days ago Helen and I again had a meeting with Lanfranco Aceti from
Leonardo Almanac. Since our last meeting he had a look at our content so
far and we agreed on a cooperation. The Cyposium book will be distributed
as pdf's and a book print on demand via Leonardo Almanacs.

This means a lot of work to get the articles and texts in the right format
but it will also mean we have a good distribution channel. Helen and I will
