Ziga in slovenia has encountered a couple of problems during installation (to a debian server, not a virtualbox).:

When I start the upstage server it complains about not finding
twisted.web.woven (Python 2.5 and twisted 10.0.0 debian package is
installed).

upstage-server apparently needs "guard" from twisted.web.woven.
There are some comments in the web.py file about deprecating this...?

in the end he solved this, discovering that woven module was apparently deprecated in twisted 10.0.0; so we need to fix UpStage to work with the latest version of twisted.

so, he got the server up & running, but is still having some wierd problems; here are the error messages:

We got the server up and running.
There is some strange phenomena happening still.
When trying to create a new user, one gets a server error.
This is from upstage.log;

    further to this, ziga has given up on the installation, but given us these notes:

    First problem is that you are using an out of date library, thats what's ziga was asking about, and when we managed to get around this bug by installing an older version of the library (8.0 something i reckon) it turned out that your installer generates specified install paths in a wrong manner, so basically the location written in the code isn't the location where the files are placed in during the install, so someone would have to sit there and manually move files to the correct folders in tree system, so that the server would start working properly in the end.

    And there were also some other bugs that are still present, the most disturbing one of them being speech generation, that sounds completely different in backend and frontend. on sourceforge this bug is marked as fixed and I was hoping, that you still didn't implement it on your server and that my fresh install will come with the fixed version. So yes, it was a disappointment when it turned out that even installing the software and getting the server running is a difficulty and that your support is basically very limited.
