Just to let you know that Song Weijia has uploaded his path at [1].
He started working on IPv6 support on a subversion branch.
AFAICT he is on experimental state also, so perhaps you can get in touch 
and work together. No need to duplicate effort :-)
You can discuss your ideas on punp-devel list.
