Would be possible to develop a port triggering section next to the UPnP section? For exmple:
PortMapper [method] [protocol] [credentials] [ others ] whwre
method = UPnP. TRIGGER (FORWARD)
protocol = SSH, HTTP, TELNET, ...
credentials = usernam,me/pass if it is needed)
others = IP/port(range), etc.

Need: trigger port (TCP) + interval (UDP)
I miss port triggerring. :)

Michael

    Hi Michael,

    I am sorry, but the UPnP API doesn't provide methods for managing port triggering. You can only manage normal port mappings. If you want to automate the port trigger management, you will have to use a router specific solution.

    If you have have ddwrt, maybe you could automate this by directly executing commands via ssh. Another possibility (that works for all routers) is to automatically control the web frontend, e.g. using Perl (WWW::Mechanize) or Java (HTMLUnit, selenium, ...).

    HTH,

    Christoph.

    Hi, Christoph,
    yes, I agree, your program uses a different method, UPnP not the same. I have an another program to manage the router's portforward and triggering function (I am a lazy user, who builds up the solution with given applications, not a programmer guru.... :) ). Just I think you may develop a complex program which is able to manage all NAT functions of the router all-in-one. I hope I did not hurt you.
    Regards
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    no offense :)

    What other program are you using? I wonder what interface it uses to communicate with the router.

    Christoph.
