Santa's got me a brand new Pixel 3. I've migrated out of my old nexus 6 using the fancy google migration wizzard (the one with the cable attached to both phones etc).
The UPM app was migrated too. But then after a couple of updates of the local database my windows computer stopped being able to read the database saying that the last block was not full (or somesuch).
The only way I could recover was to take my windows computer's old database, upload it to my ftp and reinstall the android program (clean data etc).
And loose the few updates I did on my pixel 3 until it broke in the process.
So: beware ! And do not rely on phone migration tool !
