UpdateFixer

I was hoping this utility would fix a system which has refused to update since it was new. It finds so many recommended and optional issue fixes; you select them; you click a fix button, and it's busy for a few minutes; then it asks you to reboot the machine. At restart, a command window advises you that UpdateFixer is repairing your machine; and that when the process is finished the window will close. Two-and-a-half hours later, the window is still sitting there... neither reporting any error nor any actual progress. I've run it both with and without my AVware disabled. No joy. I really find it impossible or unreasonable that Microsoft doesn't incorporate such a tool itself in its update libraries. The time of mine that they've wasted is unbelievable, and inexcusable. But all I can tell you is that for whatever issues I'm confronted with, this little app seems to fall on its face too.
