Hi everyone,

Major UnrealIRCd 5 news. First of all, U5 development is now public. On
GitHub, the repository is called 'unreal50' and on the bug tracker we
made all U5 bug reports and feature requests public as well. We are also
releasing the first alpha version, 5.0.0-alpha1. Now, this certainly
isn't a stable version, the server may crash occasionally or behave
weird. Also, some of the planned functionality for UnrealIRCd 5 is still
missing (I would say about 80% is there). This alpha version is simply
here to give users an early opportunity to see what the current state of
UnrealIRCd 5 is. For those users who do dare to run it, feel free to
report any issues you may find or comment on the many U5 features on
https://bugs.unrealircd.org/.

Most people will only want to read the release notes, rather than run or
even test this version, that's perfectly fine. The release notes are
