New release, mostly bug fixes
The unixODBC-Test and unixODBC-GUI-Qt projects have been created from some unixODBC code. The ODBC++ project has been renamed unixODBC-CPP and the code replaced with the CPP code from unixODBC.
The unixODBC-Test, unixODBC-GUI-Qt, and unixODBC-CPP projects are all hosted in SourceForge.
unixODBC provides the ODBC infrastructure for non Windows platforms. It includes the Driver Manager, tools, drivers and sample drivers.
the 2.2.10 release is mainly a bug fix release, but is a worthwhile upgrade.
unixODBC is now included with most linux distributions, but many are several versions out of date.
New release of the LGPL ODBC subsystem. RPM's and platform specific binary packages have been added.
ODBC is an open specification for providing application developers with a predictable API with which to access Data Sources. Data Sources include SQL Servers and any Data Source with an ODBC Driver.
The specification has been used widely on MS Platforms for years - now unixODBC provides this option on all other platforms such as; Linux and OSX.
The unixODBC Project has been consistently improved over its 3 years of existence. It is expected that this will continue at an even greater pace now that unixODBC has arrived on Source Forge.
