No

While Universe is now smart enough to go and read the
UniverseData.jar and GlieseCatalog.jar files from the
Universe download area on SourceForge, there is no
indication that this is being done. Since the result
is not cached locally, the user with a slow connection
may not realize that he or she could significantly
reduce game start up time if he or she simply
downloaded these files manually and placed them in the
same directory as the Universe.jar file.

The user interface should give some indication that a
remote read is being done and suggest a permanent
download to the user.

Note that the above would not be as necessary if the
code was changed to download the needed data file and
persistently store it where Universe.jar could find it
the next time it was run.

In addition it would be nice if during startup, a check to
see if there was a newer version of UniverseData.jar and
    download that information.
