This page compares the specifications of the desktop flavours of the Univalent Versatile Environment. Will it be helpful to choose?

List of flavours

At UVE, the following desktop flavours are currently developed:

Stable

The first stable release is in parentheses.

LXQt (22.08) - A simple and robust desktop environment, similar to a certain Kamuriki.
Xfce (22.08) - Mid-range. A bit heavy? But there is no such thing as a light desktop for such luxury.
Plasma (22.10) - It's too fancy and a bit heavy. Do you think you can afford to use it on a modern computer?
i3 (22.12) - For netbooks and more. Try it! It may become a habit.
Cinnamon (22.12) - kind of like Win7.
GNOME (22.12) - Like some Ubuntu. It's pretty heavy.
MATE (22.12) - relatively lightweight Win-like. Is it the lightest GTK-based?
Budgie (23.08) - GTK-based heavyweight flavour.

Under development

LXDE (under development for public alpha) - ancestor of LXQt, available in GTK2 and 3.
Trinity (in development for public alpha) - branched off from KDE3.
Deepin (in development for public alpha) - Qt + GTK.
OpenBox (under development for public alpha) - focused on running web applications
Budgie (working on public alpha release date) - GTK-based heavyweight distro.

Discontinuation of development

The final version is shown in parentheses.

Kylin (which was in development for a public alpha but canceled) - not aimed at the Chinese market.
Moevalent (22.12.1) - Fiddled with the exterior of the LXQt.
Unity (23.06) - Heaviest, Old Ubuntu style.
