Notice of Default Kernel and License Changes

Following NJB's another product, Kamuriki Linux, UVE will switch to the 3-clause BSD license in the next release.
At this time, we'll continue to publish the source code on GitHub and distribute the stable source code in tarball on SourceForge.

You can read the original text here. There is also an unofficial Japanese translation by NJB.

Also, UVE will replace the default kernel with a realtime kernel (linux-rtextra) in the next release for the following reasons:

  • Lower latency than Stable (linuxcore)
  • To make it lighter

Read about the real-time kernel on ArchWiki's "Realtime Kernel Patchset".
