#793 Make ready for todays compilers

You need to make your code ready for the current compilers. E.g.,

I added

CXXFLAGS=-Wno-register

to uvconvert/Makefile

and

#include <cstring>

to uvconvert/prehdr.h
finally allowing me to compile uvconv.
