According to my xorg log the unichrome driver is initialising correctly, and the load it lower then when playing DVD's (however not as low as some have reported - if hovers at around 60% idle)

HOWEVER! If I use glxgears, I get around 90 frames/sec and glxinfo reports that there is direct rendering. What do I need to post to get help solving this problem?

Sorry, I meant glxinfo reports there is NO direct rendering...

You should add drm support for kernel and Mesa too. See dri.sourceforge.net

Manually compiling Mesa (From CVS) has direct rendering reporting: Yes but the following warnings are thrown:

ligGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x23
ligGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x24
ligGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x25

and glxgears report ~500 fps, but the animation moves at about 15.

Also, using sythesia plug for mythmusic (which use GLX) now seg faults...

Don't know how related the two issues are. Any idea?

Are you sure the animation is actually showing 15 or simply sppearing to show 15?  I've seen cases where it appears to stand nearly still but in fact it's because it's going some kind of even multiple of your monitors refresh rate.
