Hello,

I have a Highpoint RAID Controller HPT372, it is
integrated into the Epox 8K5A2 Motherboard. When the
install program runs, it sees that I have a 40Gb disk with
8Mb cache and sees the correct disk parameters, but
then it begins to report an irq detection failure and, well,
just continues to repeat this error message...

I could use the onboard VIA Rhine IDE controller, but this
does not provide the same disk performance and I have
my DVD and CDRW drives as masters on each of the two
controller slots in an attempt to gain some perfomance
benefit by seperating each of the IDE channels.

There are various drivers on the Highpoint website:

http://www.highpoint-tech.com/372drivers_down.htm

...these are for Caldera, Suse and Redhat.

The source code is also available (and I have attached it
to this support request) but I do not know if compiling
this code, after first installing the OS via the VIA Rhine
IDE controller is enough to be able to be able to use the
compiled code, via a floopy disk, at boot time during the
initial installation process.

Is this controller supported by UndeadLinux for Evil Entity
DR 0.2.5, and if so, how could I work around the install
detection problem?

Thanks,

Peter
