Version: undbx 0.21 from Ubuntu 18.04 repository
I do realise this project has not been updated for six years now but could not find any other way to seek help. unDbx runs quite nicely on about 30 GB worth of Outlook Express backup files. However, on Linux the eml files created all had random filenames consisting of 8-digit hexadecimal strings (screen-shot attached) rather than a name derived from FROM / TO / SUBJECT fields as suggested in readme file.
I would like to know under what circumstances this happens and if there is a workaround.

This is the expected behavior if you're using the --safe-mode / -s command line option, in order to generate locale-safe file names.
