this is an awesome program, however it would be really neat if you guys could work on integrating it properly with the KDE network manager, so that these two programs are mutually aware of each other and honor their internal state accordingly.

    I understand that integration with NetworkManager would be great.
    However, Network Manager is working on its own 3G integration: ModemManager.

    That should take over the function that umtsmon has for everyone when they upgrade to a future version.

    keep in mind that umtsmon is only meant to be a post-installation 3G support tool - I still envision that the basic OS should support this. This is the reason why umtsmon doesn't draw on other libraries for example - we want it to run on as many Linux platforms as possible - just as a simple post-install.
