I've rewritten the RPM spec file and the create_rpm.sh script so they actually compile now. It creates a umplayer package, along with a umplayer-themes and umplayer-lang subpackage. The packages and spec file have been checked by rpmlint and should adhere to both the openSuSE and Fedora packaging standards (it contains if statements that run distro specific commands).
With the new files, a user can compile an RPM package for his or her distro by running:
and it will require no user intervention.
The attached patch is based on SVN revision 180.
