Hi,

I suggest (and began to code)(but i am probably not the best C coder here ;-)), a new screen that I would call "practice mode".

You sing whatever you want (no mp3, midi file.... is played), and the note you're singing is displayed on a staff.

Regards

Antoine

    Hi,

Nice :) hope to have feedback about this very soon :)
I was also planning (just start to think about it) to different similar screens :
    - sing and saw the note on a piano
    - sing and saw the note on a guitar
    - have some king of accorder (displaying the nearest note in big and a vu-meter for finest according).

All these screens could be in the future loaded via scripting or plugin :) (I hope)

    Waiting your code :)

    Vincent

An easy way to add practice mode, is to create a new folder with a txt file, pointing to an mp3 file without sound. The text file also need some notes, but I suppose you could add a single long note in relative mode, then copy this as much as you want.

This is really a just workaround, so if you have a better solution, that would be great. I'm not going to implement it though, as I don't find it that useful.

The ideas from Vincent are interesting, but also harder to implement.

CVS version now has the practice screen (still the staff display is not finished but sung note is displayed).
