Basically all distributions have already the keyboard UK-International. It is in the X11 package. The problems that can appear in them is to have an accented c instead of ç when you type ' + c . To solve this issue, put the following line in you .bashrc (or the /etc/profile from the machine itself)
LANG=pt_BR
SUPPORTED=pt_BR:en_GB:en_US:en
export LANG SUPPORTED
You can substitute the pt_BR to your own accented language. This will make things work as expected.... read more
For all those who live/bought a laptop in the UK this project can save you time and help you if you need to write in another language than English using your UK keyboard.
