It's hard to decide whether it's a proper bug or not, but - as noted in the previous thread - due to an old fix, Eidolon's Lair can't be completed under 'notarget', as Eidolon stays invulnerable till he spots the player.

I think you are referring to the svn rev. 3946 change. I don't think that this qualifies as a bug, because 'notarget' is just a developer debug command or a cheat, and the level is playable through normal means.

Even if 'notarget' is just a cheat, nevertheless, it didn't prevent that level from being completed.
My question is: is there a way to improve that old fix, so that 'notarget' once again doesn't prevent Eidolon from getting killed ?

The fix would probably be improved, but we no longer have a dedicated HexenC developer (Thomas has retired himself for quite some time). Unless you or someone else provides a patch for it, it is of very low priority on my end.
